Lame 4.0 (vanilla) does not fix this, by the way. That patch may not be in until 4.1 according to the most active contributor. The important part is that patch, which several distributions now have. When I originally filed this bug, the LAME project was pretty much dead/sleeping, which is why I framed the impetus as “adopt the latest patches that are the de facto new version.” That was the story with Gnome’s EasyTag. LAME, however, go revived in a way. It is just that 4.0 does not have this patch.
