[Impact]
Track Xilinx FPGA enablement in linux-amd-embedded, including configfs
overlays, encrypted/authenticated programming, readback, DMA-buffer
loading, AFI configuration and Versal Gen 2 firmware transport.
[Fix]
Integrate 17 requested Xilinx changes, seven prerequisite backports and
one local firmware-response handling fix. Preserve the existing Ubuntu
firmware-driver layout.
[Test Plan]
Full ARM64 and amd64 compile-test builds passed, including kernel
linking and module modpost. Mock firmware transport tests passed 200
UBSan assertions.
The amd64 test uses firmware stubs and COMPILE_TEST, without
MODVERSIONS. Production annotations and hardware validation remain
pending.
On supported hardware, verify boot, FPGA programming, overlays,
readback, DMA-buffer loading and AFI operation, including failure and
repeated-operation scenarios.
[Where problems could occur]
Firmware feature checking and dispatch changes may affect other firmware
consumers. Overlay removal, bridge/reset sequencing, key handling and
DMA-buffer/readback bounds require particular review.
Several changes are downstream vendor interfaces; successful compilation
does not establish hardware correctness or production readiness.
