Public bug reported: diffutils 1:3.12-1ubuntu1 fails to build from source in stonking.
Regressing architectures (built before, fail now): armhf, i386. Build log(s): - https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/diffutils/1:3.12-1ubuntu1/+build/33557887/+files/buildlog_ubuntu-stonking-armhf.diffutils_1%3A3.12-1ubuntu1_BUILDING.txt.gz - https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/diffutils/1:3.12-1ubuntu1/+build/33557888/+files/buildlog_ubuntu-stonking-i386.diffutils_1%3A3.12-1ubuntu1_BUILDING.txt.gz Diagnosis (deterministic matcher): testsuite-failure — dh_auto_test: error: make -j8 check TESTSUITEFLAGS="-j8 --verbose" VERBOSE=1 returned exit code 2. Root cause (debug-build): The y2038-vs-32bit test creates a file with a year-2039 timestamp, causing the host's 32-bit coreutils (chmod/rm) to fail during teardown with 'Value too large for defined data type' (EOVERFLOW). The failure is an environmental issue with 32-bit coreutils (chmod/rm) not supporting 64-bit timestamps in the buildd chroot, which cannot be fixed with a simple diffutils code patch. ** Affects: diffutils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Zineb Zaadoud (zineb) Status: New ** Tags: ftbfs stonking update-excuse ** Tags added: ftbfs stonking update-excuse ** Changed in: diffutils (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Zineb Zaadoud (zineb) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2166741 Title: diffutils 1:3.12-1ubuntu1 FTBFS on armhf, i386 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/diffutils/+bug/2166741/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
