Does Ubuntu 7.10 still require you to install GNU Java? As far as I can
tell it should let you just have the Sun JDK installed, the depends line
has various Java implementations in an OR dependency... Please let me
know whether you are still seeing this problem.

openoffice.org-base

Depends: gij | java-gcj-compat | libgcj8-1-awt | sun-java5-jre | sun-
java6-jre | icedtea-java7-jre | java2-runtime, libc6 (>= 2.7-1), libgcc1
(>= 1:4.1.1-21), libhsqldb-java (>= 1.8.0.9-1), libstdc++6 (>=
4.1.1-21), openoffice.org-base-core (= 1:2.3.1-3ubuntu2), openoffice
.org-core (= 1:2.3.1-3ubuntu2), openoffice.org-java-common (>> 2.2.0-4)

Thanks,

Chris Cheney
