> I'm not sure who would be associating libav with anything other than FFmpeg at this point.
Apparently libav was only abandoned in 2020, so three years after this bug was opened. I think it would communicate better what the package is using 'ffmpeg' in the name but there's still a good argument for 'libav' since that's still the library naming convention: Depends: libavcodec62 (>= 7:8.1.2), libavfilter11 (>= 7:8.1.2), libavformat62 (>= 7:8.1.2), libavutil60 (>= 7:8.1.2), -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1694409 Title: Incorrect package description (and name) of gst-libav1.0 / gstreamer1.0-libav: Refers to libav even though Ubuntu uses FFmpeg instead of libav To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gst-libav1.0/+bug/1694409/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
