Public bug reported:

Regression between linux-image-7.0.0-27-generic (works) and
7.0.0-28-generic / 7.0.0-29-generic (broken).

Hardware: OWC Express 1M2 USB4 NVMe enclosure (ASMedia bridge),
connected to laptop's USB4 port. PCIe switch reported as [1b21:2463].

Symptom: LUKS-encrypted NVMe drive inside the enclosure fails to
mount ("Failed to activate device: Input/output error" in Nautilus/
udisks). Works fine when connected via a slower (non-USB4) port.

lspci shows the link fails to complete training:
  LnkSta: Speed 2.5GT/s, Width x1
TrErr- Train- SlotClk+ DLActive- BWMgmt- ABWMgmt-

dmesg shows the resulting NVMe failure:
nvme nvme1: controller is down; will reset: CSTS=0xffffffff, PCI_STATUS=0x11
nvme nvme1: Disabling device after reset failure: -19

Possibly related to known ASMedia PCIe switch link-training issues,
see upstream series "PCI: Work around PCIe link training failures"
(Maciej W. Rozycki).
