Hi Christian, I made this bug in advance but now I agree in hindsight it looks like I want to do this now. We definitely don't have any plans to remove old versions before the new versions land in the archive and their reverse dependencies have been moved to a different version.
That's good to know, I wasn't aware I was blocking anyone. In the future I will make sure to be more in sync with Debian. I shall start the process of moving the default to 1.95 immediately. I will also contact the lace maintainers and see if I can help them move their toolchain version.
