Public bug reported: the qtmultimedia unit tests reliably fail on my workstation due to a deadlock in ffmpeg->libx265.
the issue in question seems to have been fixed upstream, but the x265 snapshot seems to be too old: https://github.com/Multicorewareinc/x265/commit/8135b84bda4767fdb66df1d3f0fb68d729e777b1 it seems to require v4.2 or higher, while ubuntu ships v4.1. it would be great if a bugfix for x265 could be released, either with the fix cherry-picked (or by moving to a newer upstream release (v4.2 / v4.3) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 26.04 Package: libx265-dev 4.1-4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 7.0.0-29.29-generic 7.0.12 Uname: Linux 7.0.0-29-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_modeset nvidia ApportVersion: 2.34.1-0ubuntu0.1 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: KDE Date: Thu Aug 13 14:09:44 2026 InstallationDate: Installed on 2022-09-07 (1436 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS "Jammy Jellyfish" - Release amd64 (20220419) SourcePackage: x265 UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to resolute on 2026-04-29 (106 days ago) ** Affects: x265 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug resolute wayland-session -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2163377 Title: libx265 may cause libavcodec and qtmultimedia to deadlock To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/x265/+bug/2163377/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
