Thanks for your replies last time about a fix not being implemented. I'm finding the workaround doesn't work for me and possibly makes things worse. This is a VM within VMware vSphere using the VMware Console, but also when using Omnissa Horizon Agent to connect. As described here, moving the mouse while logging in or out triggers the black screen and so requires a reboot.
I was intrigued by the response Thomas received when he posted the patch to Gnome https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/4548 that they've moved on from that version and so won't implement the fix. Can it be submitted to Ubuntu instead to roll into 24.04 LTS as it seems a long time to be running with this known issue when 24.04 doesn't go out of support in 2029/2036 and it'll never receive a newer version of Mutter/Gnome? Any thoughts would be appreciated. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2089709 Title: Ubuntu 24.04 sometimes logs in to a black screen if the mouse is moved during login To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mutter/+bug/2089709/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
