Also affected by this bug. As described, screen brightness did not
respond to hotkeys or brightness slider, and screen stayed dark after
returning from sleep mode.

ThinkPad T480 i5-8350U running Kubuntu 26.04 LTS on a fresh install,
kernel version 7.0.0-29-generic 64-bit, Intel UHD Graphics 620
integrated card with no discrete graphics.

As described by Tyson-lambert (#7), appending
"i915.enable_dpcd_backlight=0" to boot parameters fixed this issue.
