Public bug reported:
I am running Ubuntu 24.04 on a Dell 14 Premium DA14250 with Intel Meteor
Lake IPU6 (PCI 8086:7d19, Dell subsystem 1028:0ce5).
The kernel detects the internal sensor:
Found supported sensor OVTI02C1:00
Connected 1 cameras
However, the ov02c10 sensor never appears to probe or bind. There is no
bind ov02c10 ... or All sensor registration completed message, no bound
device under /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/ov02c10/, and no ov02c10 sensor entity
in the media graph.
The ACPI device exists as /sys/bus/acpi/devices/OVTI02C1:00, but udevadm
shows DRIVER=="".
CamHAL consequently appears to fall back to the wrong profile. strace
shows it loading:
/etc/camera/ipu6epmtl/sensors/ar0234_usb.xml
and
/etc/camera/ipu6epmtl/AR0234_TGL_10bits.aiqb
instead of the installed ov02c10-uf.xml profile.
The ov02c10-uf profile does contain the expected NV12 1920x1080 and
1280x720 modes.
This looks similar to issue #428, where OVTI02C1 is detected but no
usable sensor is registered in the media graph.
