systemd 259.5-0ubuntu3
During boot, systemd service names are displayed correctly in bold on
the Linux virtual console.
During shutdown, the same service names are replaced by square glyphs
(□), while the service descriptions remain visible.
Example on console:
Stopped □□□□□□□□□□□□□ - Authorization Manager.
Stopped □□□□□□□□□□□□□ - CUPS Scheduler.
Stopped target □□□□□□□□□□□□□ - Login Prompts.
The system journal contains the correct service names, for example:
Stopped polkit.service - Authorization Manager.
Stopped cups.service - CUPS Scheduler.
Stopped target getty.target - Login Prompts.
Console configuration:
CHARMAP=UTF-8
FONTFACE=Terminus
FONTSIZE=8x16
The issue appears to be limited to console rendering during shutdown.
