Public bug reported:

I am using Linux Mint 22.2 (Zara), based on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (Noble).

Package:
fonts-courier-prime
Version:
0+git20190115-3

The package installs Courier Prime font files with incorrect internal
metadata.

The files:
- Courier Prime Bold.otf
- Courier Prime Italic.otf
- Courier Prime Bold Italic.otf

are all identified by fontconfig as:

family: "Courier Prime"
style: "Light" "Regular"
fullname: "Courier Prime Regular"
weight: 50
postscriptname: "CourierPrime-Regular"

Expected metadata should identify them as Bold, Italic and Bold Italic
respectively.

This prevents applications relying on font metadata from selecting the
correct font variants. For example, LuaLaTeX with fontspec cannot select
the Bold face using \bfseries.

The issue persists after a clean reinstall:

sudo apt purge fonts-courier-prime
fc-cache -frv
luaotfload-tool --cache=erase
luaotfload-tool --update
sudo apt install fonts-courier-prime

The problem is reproducible with a fresh installation of the package.
