Public bug reported:
The ubuntu 26.04 installer ISO fails to boot on my Asus UM5606GA laptop.
Workaround: select "safe graphics" in grub.
After installation, Ubuntu boots, but once it reaches the desktop, it freezes.
Workaround 1 (temporary): in grub, boot in recovery mode -> select "resume"
Workaround 2 (permanent): in /etc/default/grub, set
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="nomodeset", then execute update-grub.
