Pretty obviously I made a guess after seeing a lot of updates get pushed
and no recurrences after more than a week- I realized that guess was
erroneous after seeing two recurrences last week. Or maybe the issue was
fixed but was re-introduced for v24, just as described for the v26
branch in comment #5.

Even more obviously, the people verifying issues, developing, QA-
testing, and pushing updates probably should have known there wasn't a
(lasting?) fix for the v24 branch and that in comment #13 I was
mistaken.

So if this issue cannot be re-opened then whose responsibility is it to
re-create it? Because LTS should mean something more than "So the fix is
coming in Ubuntu 26.10, and when that's complete we can think about
fixing 26.04 and 24.04."

Because how would you feel about unnecessarily paying lots of extra
moolah on your power bill, the prospect of replacing an expensive
monitor or a whole dev or gaming class laptop months or years early
because of this uncorrected issue?
