Real Player installs and operates fine here. I think the solution you are seeking can be found via https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats
Also, you can enable universe and multiverse repositories, and 'sudo apt-get install mozilla-firefox' as that will help you out a little bit. Also if possible, re-word your bugs in the future so they follow the Ubuntu Code of Conduct (http://www.ubuntu.com/community/conduct). I know it gets frustrating at times, but no reason to take it out here. Everyone in the world is a so-called n00b as you put it, so no need to talk down people who aren't as familiar with computers just yet. Now migrating from Windows for your first time to Linux will take a massive amount of patience. For some reason a lot of people think that Linux is the same thing as Microsoft. Go over the Restricted Formats page I posted and you should be fine. Any more issues arise we will be more than happy to help. Thank you! ** Changed in: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided => Low Status: Unconfirmed => Needs Info -- Real Player will not install even with Real Players instructions. https://launchpad.net/bugs/62917 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
