Public bug reported:

Bug 2155202 is the perfect example of how maintainers should be vetted
properly.

A package that was working was changed in a very damaging way, making it
impossible for some users to use their system. The change made no sense
whatsoever. It didn't when it was proposed and it definitely does not
now.

Rather than reverse this damaging change, a maintainer stuck his head in
the sand and closed the bug report.

Mere mortals cannot reopen a bug report, even if it was closed for no
good reason.

Apparently the solution to a working system, just because a driver is no
longer supported, is to make that system completely unusable, then shrug
your shoulders and blame the user. Incredible.

By, the way, there's no other way to contact anybody about this except through
bug reports.
IRC is filled with arrogant clowns who think they're better than everybody else.

<gordonjcp> KenSharp: why don't you just package it yourself then?
<KenSharp> If it was discontinued, why break systems by changing the
dependencies?
<gordonjcp> KenSharp: you've had 14 years out of your Kepler GPU

Such a Microsoft response.
