Hi Matthew,
I have successfully verified this fix using the packages in noble-
proposed.
Environment Tested:
OpenStack Release: Caracal (Ubuntu 24.04 Noble)
Deployment Tool: Juju
Packages Installed:
$ dpkg -l | grep cinder
ii cinder-api 2:24.2.0-0ubuntu2.1
all Cinder storage service - API server
ii cinder-common 2:24.2.0-0ubuntu2.1
all Cinder storage service - common files
ii cinder-scheduler 2:24.2.0-0ubuntu2.1
all Cinder storage service - Scheduler server
ii cinder-volume 2:24.2.0-0ubuntu2.1
all Cinder storage service - Volume server
ii python3-cinder 2:24.2.0-0ubuntu2.1
all Cinder Python 3 libraries
Verification Steps:
Deployed the OpenStack environment and provisioned volumes consuming 60GB of
total storage space.
Manually modified the MySQL database to simulate a drifted state, reducing the
recorded used space quota down to 40GB.
Before Upgrade: Executing cinder-manage quota sync failed to correct the
out-of-sync quota values.
After Upgrade: Upgraded the Cinder packages to version 2:24.2.0-0ubuntu2.1.
Executing cinder-manage quota sync successfully re-synchronized the used space
quota back to the correct value.
Result: Subsequent runs of cinder-manage quota check completed successfully
with no further warnings or discrepancies. The fix is verified.
Best,
Maizi Liao
