Public bug reported:

Hardware: Lenovo ThinkPad X9-14 Gen 1, Intel Core Ultra 7 258V (Lunar Lake),
IPU7 [8086:645d] rev 04, MIPI sensor Sony IMX471 (ACPI HID SONY471A:00).
OS: Ubuntu 26.04 (resolute), kernel 7.0.0-22-generic.
Stack: native in-kernel intel_ipu7 (staging) + ipu_bridge, libcamera 0.7.0.

Symptom: the IPU7 PCI probe aborts during bridge init. No /dev/media* or
/dev/video* node is created; libcamera (cam -l) lists 0 cameras.

The driver detects the sensor and then fails deterministically:

  intel-ipu7 0000:00:05.0: Found supported sensor SONY471A:00
   ipu_bridge_connect_sensor+0x10a/0x2b0 [ipu_bridge]
   ipu_bridge_init+0x1c7/0x250 [ipu_bridge]
   ipu7_isys_init.constprop.0+0x85/0x1a2 [intel_ipu7]
   ipu7_pci_probe.cold+0x50a/0x8fa [intel_ipu7]
  intel-ipu7 0000:00:05.0: error -EEXIST: IPU bridge init failed
  intel-ipu7 0000:00:05.0: probe with driver intel-ipu7 failed with error -17

Reproducible on every boot and on module reload (modprobe -r/modprobe).

Tried: purged intel-ipu7-dkms so only the native signed module
(linux-main-modules-ipu7-7.0.0-22-generic, intel_ipu7 marked (C)) is used.
The -EEXIST persists with the pure native stack, so this is not a DKMS conflict.

Expected: probe should complete as in LP #2107320 for the same laptop, i.e.
"Found supported sensor SONY471A:00" -> "Connected 1 cameras" -> CSE BOOT_LOAD
/ AUTHENTICATE_RUN -> "bind imx471". This looks like a regression in the
upstreamed IPU7/ipu-bridge staging path vs the OEM-kernel + ipu6-drivers path.
