I don't think so. There is no network problem (except that my firewall does not allow NTP protocol). And there is also no harddisk problem (except that Linux cannot access the Windows partitions that exist on the same harddisk).
The "3 minute freeze" only happens if I boot the laptop WITHOUT an external screen attached, and then connect an external screen to the HDMI port of the laptop, and then reboot the laptop WITH the external screen attached. Obviously, the operating system remembers the screen configuration of the PREVIOUS boot. If it recognizes that the screen configuration of the CURRENT boot is different from the screen configuration of the PREVIOUS boot, and the screen configuration has changed in such a way that an external screen was added, it freezes for 3 minutes. The "3 minute freeze" does NOT happen if I boot with the same screen configuration twice. And it does NOT happen if I REMOVED an external screen since the previous boot. It only happens if I ADDED an external screen since the previous boot. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2154670 Title: Screen freeze (3 minutes freeze when booting with external screen) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sddm/+bug/2154670/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
