Thanks for the report.
The thumbnailers are conceptually separate from the video player, it
just so happened the default thumbnailers used to be provided by Totem
(a video player)
Regardless, I do agree these should have made their way into the minimal
install, for same reason Loupe is there.
I'll get this fixed.
