ENV: Edgy / Tomboy 0.4.1-0ubuntu3 I also used Tomboy (0.3.5-1ubuntu3) throughout my dapper experience, and found this issue problematic at first. I needed my Tomboy!
My guess is that this is not a bug, but the intended behavior. Now, that I am used to it, I don't mind it. The Panel applet seems to be intended to replace the "tray/notifier icon". The applet in my panel seems to be in a running state mono /usr/lib/tomboy/Tomboy.exe --panel-applet --oaf-activate-iid=OAFIID:TomboyApplet My theory seems to be supported by the image in the Edgy Eft/Beta wiki page https://wiki.ubuntu.com/EdgyEft/Beta#head-e5bb3ad65cac0cba8ea382569755ff7b71041bb1 When I first run tomboy from Deskbar it gave me a scary message about 0 of 0 notes migrated. It was an awkward upgrade experience for me, but Tomboy was only a universe package in Dapper. -- gnome tray icon / notifier not displayed https://launchpad.net/bugs/61756 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
