I'm not sure, but I think top also includes disk cache in the memory
overview. "system monitor" under System->administration->system monitor
does take this into account, you can also easily sort the process table
on memory usage there. By default it shows only your processes, use
view->all processes to view system processes too.

The 200m that knotify uses seems to be it's *virtual* memory allocated,
not the real memory usage.
