If you add the hardy repositories, you can install the 2.6.24 kernel. ie add
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ hardy main restricted universe multiverse to /etc/apt/sources.list and do 'sudo apt-get update' (or you can do it via the Repositories / Third-Party software and Reload button in Synaptic). I didn't install all the updates, only the latest linux-image, libc, and the gcc/g++ compilers (libc etc so I could recompile various apps without complaints). If you disable the hardy repositories afterwards, the update manager won't keep telling you there are hundreds of updates available. -- [gutsy] fglrx breaks over suspend/resume https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121653 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
