I had the same problem with Ubuntulite, it freezes during the installation at 85%. With Xubuntu it would freeze at 75%. In both I selected Portuguese PT language and guided partition using entire disk. The PC is a Pentium III at 450Mhz with 64 MB RAM (I also had the same problem with 256 MB RAM)
