Public bug reported: Hi,
I'm using a very old notebook: compaq armada 1592DT. It has 64MB ram so it runs xubuntu rather slow, but stable. Only when I play some music for a while (with xmms, or mpg123) the whole system hangs, and then the music is being looped. When I restart I don't see erro any messages (/var/log/syslog.0 or /var/log/dmesg.0). About the soundcard: to make the sound card work, I had to add 'snd-es1688' to /etc/modules. It's probably an old ISA sound card. The ISA bridge is mentioned by lspci as: 00:01.0 ISA Bridge: OPTi Inc. 82C700 firestarter (rev31) ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- system hangs when playing sound es1688 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/184283 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
