I couldn't quite figure out what fedora is doing to launch the terminal,
since it's not using xdg-terminal-exec and it's not using
org.gnome.desktop.default-applications.terminal.

We're using xdg-terminal-exec which launches ptyxis in a specific way that 
enables supporting "Open in Terminal" from nautilus, but introduces this quirk.
I've proposed a solution here which I intend to backport for 26.04:
