Public bug reported: [ Impact ]
* The current noble image fails to build since we try to build a snap model for sb. This one used to be synced by the Cloud team which doesn’t need it anymore. * We moved our snaps to core24, which means that this now unused models would need to be updated, signed, and included in the new livecd- rootfs for every snaps transition. The goal is to minimize now the maintainance cost by avoiding doing this update and remove it for future transition, as this is not used at all anymore. * The impact is at ISO build time. The option from the installer using that model has never been available by our end user. [ Test Plan ] 1. Start a noble image build 2. Ensure the build is succesful 3. Try to install this Ubuntu desktop image. Installation should be successful 4. After rebooting on the installed system, the model "classic-model.model" should no be present on the system. [ Where problems could occur ] * This is straightfoward to detect: the rootfs either can’t build, of the installed system can’t boot. This could be detected before landing. [ Other Info ] * I did a rootfs build in my ppa: https://launchpad.net/~didrocks/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/+build/32740308 and built a rootfs from it: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-wsl- dev/+livefs/ubuntu/noble/wsl. ** Affects: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Fix Released ** Affects: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2147086 Title: [SRU] Fix noble image by dropping unused sb build To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/livecd-rootfs/+bug/2147086/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
