Tested kernel 6.17.0-20-generic. The issue persists — fans still run at maximum speed (~4800 RPM) when performance profile is selected.
Also tested sudo rmmod alienware_wmi followed by sudo modprobe alienware_wmi. The issue persists after reloading the module — fans remain at maximum speed in performance profile.
