Public bug reported:

Dapper has serious unresolved issues with the RealTek ALC260 chip
shipped on the Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook P7120 where the sound card would
boot muted. This is fixable with configuring the alsa-mixer, however the
master volume is always assigned to the headphone (instead of the
internal speakers). And there are also issues with the internal
microphone (working on the same chip) not being able to record anything.
Instead an external mic has to be used thus making the internal mic
useless.

I would like to enquire if these bugs are fixed with the release of Edgy
EFT? or will it be another setback for me and encouragment for going
back to Windows once again!

Thanks.
