Hello, I want to report a bug for which I haven't found a solution, despite
numerous searches, diagnostics, and relevant troubleshooting steps suggested by
the AI. A never-ending headache.
I've eventually given up. I decided to switch from Ubuntu to Mint, no more
problems then.

Configuration: A very powerful 2016 desktop PC, home made by the owner, a pro
photograph, but used for only 5 years, that has been gently given to me.
- MSI MS-7978 v2.0 Motherboard
- Intel Core™ i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz × 4
- 32GB Crucial Vengeance RAM (tested)
- 1 x 512GB NVMe SSD (tested) with Windows 10
- 1 x 240GB SSD (I added, SATA connected) for installing Ubuntu (tested)
- 3 x 2TB hard drives (tested, removed, and ultimately disconnected)
- NVIDIA GM206 [GeForce GTX 950] tested with several drivers, including the one
marked as "recommended"
- A large top-notch Noctua heatsink and a large CPU fan
- A solid power supply. "RM650X Corsair"

The only symptoms I could observe : The CPU cores temperatures rises from 30
to 60 degrees Celsius, within 30 to 40 minutes while streaming or playing a
video locally.
The system freezes. The pointer mouse can move a little very slowly and not
far, or not at all. I have too reboot. Sometimes Ctrl F1 works, but I also
have to reboot anyway I think,

This two things don't happen under Windows 10 (nvm.e disk) , neither
underLinux Mint thats is now installed, and everything works fine.

Hypothesis: It seems that Ubuntu 24.04 could maybe have some power
management issues and that the CPU overheats ( but 60 degrees doesn't
looks to much, does it? ) maybe the GPU too, I don't know but I have
suspicions on the GPU too

After three days and many many hours of searching, I gave up; A real
nightmare. I installed Linux Mint Zena, Cinnamon 6.6.7 environment, X11
display server, and everything works fine. Everything also worked when
booting Windows 10 (NVMe drive).

This PC is wonderful. It has been disqualified by Microsoft, of course, as
millions of other one, for an update to Windows 11. But Linux is here, pals.
I now have a monster of power with a complete Linux Mint system with tons of
useful software. everything works at the light speed :)

Did someone have the same issue I report here?
Does anyone find a solution? I don't need it anymore but I'm curious.
