Installed the test kernel (6.17.0-1022-generic) and have been testing extensively. Multiple sleep/wake cycles, reboots, repeated plug/unplug events, and various CPU/GPU load conditions including video playback. No issues under normal usage.
I did hit two instances of the monitors getting stuck out of roughly 100 plug/unplug attempts, but I believe both were self-inflicted. Unplugging and replugging too quickly while the monitors were still powering off/on. If I can't reliably reproduce those freezes over the next 24 hours, I'll chalk them up to user error. Under normal usage, the daisy-chained setup is exactly as stable as I remember it being before the regression. I'll continue testing and report back with final results.
