Public bug reported:
On a Huawei MateBook E (11th Gen Intel Core i7‑1160G7), the built‑in
MIPI camera does not work. The kernel reports the following error during
boot:
[ 2.755024] int3472-discrete INT3472:01: power-enable \_SB.GPI0 pin
number mismatch _DSM 240 resource 144
The camera sensors are detected on the I2C bus (HYV0846, DIOO5644,
S5K3L6), but the int3472 power management driver cannot properly control
the camera’s power supply because the GPIO pin numbers reported by ACPI
do not match the driver’s expectations.
**Expected behaviour**
The camera should be powered on and recognised by the IPU6 driver, allowing
video capture.
**Actual behaviour**
The camera remains powered off; /dev/video1 and related nodes cannot stream any
data. The int3472 error appears on every boot.
**Steps to reproduce**
1. Boot the system on a Huawei MateBook E (i7‑1160G7).
2. Run `dmesg | grep int3472`.
3. Observe the pin mismatch error.
**System information**
- Model: Huawei MateBook E
- CPU: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1160G7
- Kernel: 6.8.0‑106‑generic (also happens on 6.12.x)
- Ubuntu release: 24.04 LTS (Noble)
- Camera sensors on I2C: `i2c-HYV0846:00`, `i2c-DIOO5644:00`, `i2c-S5K3L6:00`
**Additional context**
- The issue persists after installing `libcamhal-ipu6`, `linux-firmware`, and
`firmware-intel-graphics`.
- The error is likely caused by non‑standard ACPI tables on this laptop, which
deviate from Intel’s reference design. A driver quirk (DMI match) may be needed
to correct the GPIO mapping for this specific model.
