Public bug reported: Model: ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo UX582ZM (ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED) Subsystem ID: 1043:1a8f (PCI vendor:device = 1043:1a8f) Audio codec: Realtek ALC294 (Intel Alder Lake PCH HD Audio) OS: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS Kernel: 6.17.0-14-generic (or your current one from uname -r)
Problem: - No sound from internal speakers (and/or headphone jack). - HDMI/Bluetooth audio work. - ALSA model options (generic, asus-mode1–8, auto, asus-zenbook) and HDAJackRetask pin overrides do not fix it. - EAPD/register fix (0x40 = 0x8800) via hda-verb does not fix it. Request: Please add an SND_PCI_QUIRK for subsystem 0x1043, 0x1a8f (e.g. ALC294_FIXUP_ASUS_SPK or similar) in sound/pci/hda/patch_realtek.c so that internal speakers work on this model. https://alsa-project.org/db/?f=e19e79b5e0fe480d84d4cb095886b5eed672e1de 0000:00:1f.3 Multimedia audio controller [0401]: Intel Corporation Alder Lake PCH-P High Definition Audio Controller [8086:51c8] (rev 01) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
