It doesn't only crash when idle. When I use OpenGL programs that are using DRI extensively, my xorg server crashes and is unable to restart. I suppose it is a memory problem, as the bug is reproducable when i have many MATLAB windows with graphical output, open at the same time. With DRI disabed the problem does not occur.
