I believe this is the same issue that I have cited in bug # 183457. (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/avahi/+bug/183457)
I get different errors, but the behavior is the same. I was pointing the finger at the avahi update to 0.6.20-2ubuntu3.1, but it could be the CUPS update. Rolling back the avahi update doesn't fix the problem and I can't seem to revert to my old CUPS settings.
