Thank you for filing this! One question occurs to me: > So leaving out the fully fledged review, and just for the given > request of locales-all I agree to the purpose and reasoning, approving > and you can promote the binary package once the dependency shows up.
I'm assuming this means I should add locales-all to the desktop-raspi seed [1] to produce the dependency. However, the desire is to include this in the pre-installed desktop image, but have gnome-initial-setup remove it once first-time setup is complete. The logic for this has been added to g-i-s (thank you Matt Hagemann!), so I was considering adding locales-all as a *recommended* package in the seed (permitting its removal). But it occurs to me that the seed probably shouldn't be recommending packages we intend to immediately remove, and that a cleaner solution would be to add locales-all as an "extra" package in the image definition [2], much as we used to do for oem-config (which removed itself after first-time setup). However, that way wouldn't produce the dependency required above? Would it be acceptable to go the "extra" package route? I'm happy to go either route, but the latter seems mildly preferable to me?
