Hi,
It's impossible to activate display desktop icons on mate desktop with
caja files manager.
in order to evit crash desktop, i have erased keys from schema
org.caja.mate.desktop, and replace caja with nemo as desktop manager:
This requires modifying the corresponding python file to specify the
org.nemo.desktop schema, and call a subprocess to execute nemo-desktop
(activates nemo as desktop manager).
it works well on my system (ubuntu 24-04 LTS), bur don't know that's i
must do to contribute more.
