It's not clear what caused this timeout. Did this happen during the do-
release-upgrade to Jammy (22.04) from Focal (20.04)?
During the upgrade, I can see in the logs that you were prompted about
dovecot configuration changes. Whenever that happens, the original
configuration file is preserved, or (depending on what you answered),
the intended new configuration file is also placed in the same
directory. Have you inspected those files to see if the configuration is
still valid for the new version of dovecot that was installed with
jammy?
To be able to continue here, we will need:
- dovecot logs
- /etc/dovecot contents, and all subdirectories
