Public bug reported:
Software: Kubuntu 25.04 Live CD Installer (with Calamares 3.3.14)
Description:
When installing Kubuntu via "Replace Partition", then the selected filesystem
type (e.g. btrfs) is ignored and the rootfs will be formated as ext4.
This can already be seen in the summary before installing and will also be
executed as summarized.
Result:
Kubuntu via "Replace Partition" is limited to ext4 usage, preventing to use
advanced btrfs.
Expectation:
Selected filesystem type is also honored by "Replace Partition".
Workaround:
Select "Erase Disk" and select btrfs, then go back to "Replace Partition" and
select btrfs, then btrfs is listed in the summary and will also be installed
that way.
P.S.:
"Manual Partioning" is not a solution as mapper devices (LUKS) and brtfs
subvolumes are not offered there.
