Sorry for the late reply on this. I could not manually revive the 3.0
service because the LXD package had been removed (apt-get remove lxd) prior
to the do-release-upgrade. There was not a package to upgrade. The release
upgrade should have never attempted to upgrade a package which was no
longer on the system.
