Oh huh OK I have a theory about why the backup wouldn’t have worked. You are using a network server storage location (ssh). And Restic 0.18.0 has a regression when using it with gvfs FUSE mounts like Deja Dup does. I fixed that upstream (see link below). But they haven’t yet released a 0.18.1 and Ubuntu hasn’t yet patched their version.
