  The Yaru themes do not show three dotted icons, so you need to change the 
theme:
  * sudo apt-get install -y mate-themes`
  * Change the theme from "Yaru-MATE-light" to "BlueMenta". The default 
"Notification Area" icon is now visible
  
  # Steps to reproduce the core issue
  * Right-click on the MATE Panel
- * Click on "Add"
