Public bug reported:

This has been happening awhile.

I can still run gpicview when I'm logged into a Xorg session (eg. LXQt
or Xfce sessions I have installed), but here on GNOME (Wayland) it just
segfaults

** actual results

guiverc@d7050-next:~$ gpicview
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

** expected outcome

it'll open and let me view a few pictures; let me find the one I'm
looking for, then quit on command until next required.

I used to be able to run it in GNOME, when logged into an Xorg, alas
that's no longer an option.

Happy to do some testing, exploration if helpful, but have no ideas as
to possible workaround etc currently (outside of switching to another
app)

** not Ubuntu specific though

FYI: This isn't Ubuntu specific I believe; I get the same on my Debian
testing machine (forky now, but mostly trixie code). I can boot that
machine again and re-test.
