More likely you ended up with NeoChat *and* Element installed. Element
can be installed as a third-party package, but NeoChat simply comes with
Kubuntu by default. (There can be some lag between the first boot of a
new install and when newly installed Snaps start showing up in the
application menu though, so Element may not have been visible when you
were looking for it.)
