Yeah, I honestly have no idea how to even debug that. An additional
piece of information is that I tried mesa 25.1.7 from
https://launchpad.net/~kisak/+archive/ubuntu/kisak-mesa and it didn't
solve the issue either. So, whatever fixed the problem happened
somewhere between 25.1.7 and 25.2.0.

If you see a way of how I can discover what causes this - I can try
doing that. But so far I don't really have any error messages or
anything useful. It usually doesn't crash Blender, just makes it
unresponsive.
