LibreOffice dark mode broken after upgrade to Ubuntu 25.x
Description:
After upgrading from Ubuntu 24.10 to Ubuntu 25.x, LibreOffice 25.2.4.3 no
longer respects the system dark mode. Even when GTK3 is forced
(SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk3 libreoffice), the interface remains mostly white and
the spreadsheet background is white with white text by default, making it
unreadable.
Switching to dark icon themes (Breeze Dark, Colibre Dark) causes icons
to become very faint or nearly invisible. The bug affects both Calc and
Writer.
Steps to reproduce:
Set Ubuntu 25.x to dark mode (System Settings > Appearance).
Install LibreOffice 25.2.4.3 with GTK3 support (libreoffice-gtk3).
Open Calc or Writer.
Switch to a dark icon theme in LibreOffice.
Expected result:
LibreOffice interface and icons should follow the system dark mode correctly.
Actual result:
UI remains mostly white even when dark mode is enabled.
Text is white on white in spreadsheets by default.
Dark icon themes display extremely faint icons.
