I've read through the history of this again to refresh my memory. I was looking at the state of the plucky merge [1] with a view to sponsoring it, as it appears Julian's concerns have now been addressed. However, I think there's another problem now:
The devel branch is marked "Fix Released" but that was done way back in April when devel was plucky (and before the issue with ".save" files not being restored was discovered). The devel branch is now questing, and when I look at the current questing package I don't see the fix for restoring ".save" files in there. In other words, I think the devel branch status on this bug is incorrect, and that questing needs to be fixed before we can consider this for SRU to earlier series. Given this has been dragging on a while, I'm going to try and move this along like so: * I've set the devel branch to "New" * I've tested the plucky branch's patch against questing and it applies cleanly and passes (local) autopkgtests, so... * I'm going to cherry-pick the plucky change onto questing and sponsor that Assuming that migrates in questing, I think the plucky and noble branches will look okay for sponsorship (the test-plan at the top has been updated to incorporate the additional failure discovered during the initial round of verification). That may have to be done by another sponsor / patch-pilot.
