Relevant output from DpkgTerminalLog.txt:
"""
Preparing to unpack .../postfix-doc_3.10.3-2_all.deb ...
postconf: fatal: open /etc/postfix/main.cf for reading: No such file or
directory
dpkg: warning: old postfix-doc package pre-removal script subprocess returned
error exit status 1
dpkg: trying script from the new package instead ...
dpkg: error processing archive
/home/scott/Downloads/postfix-doc_3.10.3-2_all.deb (--unpack):
there is no script in the new version of the package - giving up
"""
It looks like the "/etc/postfix/main.cf" is not installed by any package
and therefore should not be expected to be around. The prerm script
should handle the lack of such file gracefully.
Additionally, we might want to add an empty (i.e. "#DEBHELPER#" only)
maintainer script to avoid the "no script in the new version of the
package" problem.
