Update to video problems after I've finally sorted out my dual Ubuntu UEFI installation partition mess....
Currently running X.Org nouveau driver (as of 07/08/2025) with M5000M, for once with no screen tearing. Have partially solved the black and white banding issue.... its my DP1.2 external monitor getting messed up when its run at >100hz sync rate. This occurs in two areas during Ubuntu booting.... At grub2 boot time (I have solved this by adding a the kernel command line param "video=3400x1440@100"). This gets my external screen working during grub2 boot, so I can see the Dell logo. Unfortunately just prior to the Ubuntu login prompt something resets the screen rate to >100hz which messes up the external monitor. After Ubuntu has logged it the screen rate is returned to the 100hZ value as per my Ubuntu screen settings.
